Alluvial gold mining is South America is mainly done by artisans using the most rudimentary mining system.
In this case,
(1) 6x4-inch water pump powered by another type of recycled engine.
Water jets break up the non-consolidated bar, or in this case river terrace layers of sand-gravel.
(2) 6-inch gravel pump powered by a diesel engine recycled from old car.
Gravel Pump suctions the water-sand-gravel slurry, then trows it in the sluice-box head.
(3) the inclined perforated metal sheet screen used to take out the oversize. This is followed by the carpet lined long sluice-box. The oversize tailing makes the characteristic gravel cones.
