I listen to this song every morning at the end of the summer, jefferson airplane is a confusion and I love all those moments while I feel that and a kind of beeing free =)

What happened here is that the camerman got infatuated with Grace Slick and couldnt keep his camera on Marty Balin.

It is actually Martin singing it.
The cameraman who was filming for Monterey pop made a mistake and thought Grace was singing it.

This is the best version. And for the record, they're both singing throughout the whole song. Its live so you here one more than the other in parts. also does anyone have a complete version?

@KonkreteXXX This IS a strange video. Poor filming... It looks like Grace Slick was singing in the beginning, but it was actually Marty Balin....and they don't even show him here or the rest of the band. You can hear Grace's harmony much better at about 1:00 into the clip.
