The Large Hadron Collider's construction was completed and first beam of particles are already fired clockwise and anti-clockwise on the 10 Sept 08. Particle collision is expected to happen 4-6 weeks time.

@hr1100 True. I know that slaughter was is and for some time will be the only proper way for us to evolve - that doesn't mean I like it. In my previous comment I was just mentioning how nice it would be if such perfect scenario would be possible. It would be just like reincarnating as almighty avatar of the hello kitty.

@blervak The world is severely getting overpopulated. Everybody is busy making babies. If you get rid of all illnesses, perhaps cure aging, we'll all die without firing a single bullet or missile. if, on the other hand, you screw medicine, invest in bombs and wars, there will be less life, hence - easier to maintain civilization, insuring survival and promoting science.

I still think it would be better to invest such amounts of money in to medicine and other sections of science which we could actually use. Once we'd have our own bodies under control then playing with matter would be logical. Now it seems a bit rushed to me.
