My favorite performance of all time

Natalie Merchant: What a beautiful, really feminine woman and what a beautiful voice! She is really steaming hot!

@kieleed48 wow how can you say that, merchant always sings with really good musicians, and that definitely includes the guitarist here. rob buck--he was lead guitar from 81-99, and died in 2000. he co-wrote some of the biggest hits by 10000 maniacs with merchant. he dedicated his life to guitar at age 16 and died at 42. this band just has a different sound from a lot of rock bands, but rob buck is not weak, he was a great guitarist.

Coming up on 20 yrs and the lyrics still strike home. Refuse the candy, think for yourself.

@coldrain85 Yeah, but it wouldn't hurt if he cranked it up a few notches. Was he timid or insecure?

There's nothing weak about Rob Buck's guitar playing. The guitar is not the focus of this band by design. The focus is Natalie's vocals, obviously, but Rob Buck deserves a lot of the credit for this band achieving what they did as he wrote some of the bands best songs including Hey Jack Kerouac and What's The Matter Here. RIP Rob.
