Unfortunately you will never be able to teach creationists anything. I guess that they know enough to flip burgers and clean toilets and they are happy enough with that.

creationists might have an overly sensitiv abstraction of thought? they like analogies but not analytic thinking. they mix up concepts wit reality and vice verca? I don't know, Its mind boggeling.

Can someone explain the difference between fossilised and petrified please.

@lateralaus Petrification refers to the mineral SILICA replacing the original organic matter . The famous example is petrified trees in Arizona with the beutiful red , gold/ tan and clear crystal looking rock. Fossilization is often thought of as mineralization (but unspecific as to which of the many minerals where used) . There are a half dozen fossil methods types. Unaltered fossils are mumification or frozen in ice where the original body is still present but preserved (Mammoths ) .

AAAaaa the earth was covered with WATER BEFORE land was even formed! Life was in the sea before the land...those PESKY facts!

@J2A4MEEE There was still land , its just there where no ice caps (melted) making sea level 600 feet higher .There was still dry land but it was baren and lifeless .
