Here to set the record straight. The original two themes used at the inaugural WrestleMania in 1985 were "Easy Lover" by Phil Collins, which was used during the introduction and "Axel F" by Harold Faltermeyer, which was used during the end credits.

This is "Axel F", which was originally written for the movie "Beverly Hills Cop" in 1984. WrestleMania took place on March 31, 1985. This song NEVER appeared on the original Coliseum Video release or the WWE Home Video versions of the inaugural WrestleMania. It was only heard on the original closed circuit and pay-per-view broadcasts of WrestleMania in 1985.

I agree, Hulk and Mr. T hosted SNL the night before and Billy crystal showed up he was one of the main comics in 85, Vince could have gotten Eddie to at least come out and talk for a min or two

  • They should of got Eddie Murphy to be part of the show...this song was used for WrestleMania after the movie Beverly Hills Cop was red hot..months prior
