America has great teachings and yet the fastest growing religions in America is Atheism or agnosticism which grew from 4% in the mid 80's to 16% today. Redistribution of flock isn't actually growth, America should learn from ministries in Latin America, Asia and others that have millions of new flock growth per year. America is full of shows, teachings and music while millions of our young people keep leaving to other venues in search of spirituality.

You really can't take that away from this 4 minute clip. I have attended the Village Church for 3 years, at which he is the lead pastor, and I serve as a worship leader there. Matt defnitely does NOT preach the social gospel, nor does he preach a Christ-less gospel. He preaches THE Gospel. He constantly teaches that any time you put a word other than 'the' in front of 'Gospel' it is NOT the Gospel.

lol. "If you have $4 and you spend $7"...that's funny. Excellent point. Stick to the Bible, it is useful for doctrine, teaching, rebuking, and training in reighteousness. Good clip.

In this specific example we learn so much about how we have lost our way when it comes to "Godly Family Finances". We've allowed banks to provide us debt, that enslaves, to answer our problems in life, instead of trusting in God. Oh Christians wake up to the freedom that is in Christ, away from debt.

True...but that's not really his point. His point is that both things like "Godly finances" and the way we view social justice as an issue are supposed to descend from a heart transformed by the truth of the Gospel, rather than trying to set either of those up as somehow being seperate issues from how we submit our lives to Christ. He's saying that being Godly in every part of life is what churches should be preaching, rather than acting like the struggle with sin is incidental to "real life."
