Countdown: Un-American Attack on Obama

Keith reports on the leaks to come out of the Clinton campaign where Mark Penn wanted to paint Obama as un-American which has been picked up by the McCain campaign. Howard Fineman weighs in and this is one thing that drives me crazy about Howard. Why does he continually try to paint McCain as above the tactics being used by his campaign when he is the one responsible for approving those tactics?

That's not true. I was also born overseas when my father was in the Airforce, and I was naturalized at birth and was not born a citizen of the US. I was born a citizen of England and had to be naturalized. I don't think that law is right, but that is the law. Clair McCaskill actually introduced a bill to change that law so it wold be legal for McCain to be elected.

No, if the mother is a citizen then you are automatically a citizen. That does not even apply with fathers. If you were born on a military base in another country then you are automatically a citizen.
