Originally featured on Unsolved Mysteries, this special investigates the Connecticut River Valley Killer.

In the mid 1980's, a suspected serial killer murdered several women along the New Hampshire/Vermont border. Within the last couple years, many believe the killer was Michael Nicholaou - a man who killed himself in 2005 after he murdered his wife and step daughter.

If you have any more information on Michael Nicholaou or details of the Connecticut River Valley murders, please contact...

  • Do you have the first segment of this special that details the Colonial Parkway murders? I believe it is before the Connecticut River Valley part. If so, please upload if you can. Glad to find this part too and thanks for posting it.

  • @msvick66 No, I don't have that one. I just taped this story because it was a memorable segment on Unsolved Mysteries.

  • This guy seems to have a preference for women of a certain physical type. It seems that most of his victims, including his last wife, were heavy-set women with dark hair and average appearance.

  • Some were, some weren't.

All these women just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Very tragic case.

  • I don't think it was him. The man that did the murder suicide had very distinctive thick eyebrows unlike the initial sketch. That's not the kind of feature you don't notice.

  • It should be noted that Jane was never completely satisfied with the composite sketch of her attacker. (I read that in a article.)

  • Poopydrawers, if you paid attention, that long haired bearded hippy is a actually a retired professor of criminology and criminal profileing, and likely has worked with police in other cases in the past. Don't judge the book by it's cover my friend...

  • poor poor woman to have to live with that memory its so sad

  • I don't think that's the guy. Maybe.

  • Didn't she say he drove off in a Jeep Wagoneer in pt.2? You'd think

they would have followed up on that.

  • @kistershi because memories are too faulty and with time fade and/or change. Too many innocent people have been sent to prison based on a positive ID from a witness so now prosecutors try to get ironclad evidence like DNA samples and such.

  • too bad that the victim and their family had to go through this me being a family member of a murder victim I know exactly how they feel is a pain that never go away and the not knowing what happen and who is responsible is a very painful situation.God give them strenght like he had to me...

  • THERES NOOOOOO SUCH THING AS CLOSURE!!!! I WISH PEOPLE WOULD STOP USING THAT WORD!! U ONLY HAVE SOME ANSWERS. THE PAIN, THE MEMORIES, THE LACK OF UNDERSTANDING DOESNT GO AWAY!!

  • Jane you are so strong. Your child and yourself survived and didn't give the killer his satisfaction. I hope you find inner peace. If it wasn't for your survival, no one would know extra details about the killer you were able to speak about. I am sure all loved ones connected to the victim thank you for that. xox

  • it seems too unreliable that she wasnt sure if that was him when she was first shown pictures, and now after speaking with this journalist for some time she is. I'd think that if this was the man who really attacked her she would immediately recognize him, even after 20 years. I think she just wants to believe its him so that she can have closure and think hes dead and gone.
