This is the first time I've heard these openings in Japanese. I'm used to hearing them in English, so these just sound... Weird. Maybe so many fans say they prefer the Japanese versions because that's the version they heard first.

This op somewhat spoiled the part with Robin joining the crew for those who haven't read the manga. The opening started with ep. 116 when Robin joined the crew at about ep.130. By ep. 116, there was no clue whatsoever about her joining the crew and it was too early. Oh, well, nothing to complaint about now, though. Like 10 years later! LOL.
