A family moves into an old house and the children discover a mysterious sealed room and the skeleton that waits inside.It's the remains of a 17th century soldier whose restless spirit still haunts the house and the family decide that they have to exorcise the ghost which is terrifying them all - but is it really the soldier that's haunting them, or something else?

This is one of the all time favourite programs of my childhood. There was another program that involved an old African drum that took a group of children back to the Victorian period and in one of the episodes they brought a slave boy back with them to the 20th century. If anyone can remember the name that would be great!

This is great! I remember watching this in 1978 and being terrified especially when they found the skeleton! Not as scary as Children of the Stones though!

This takes me back, a lonng way back! Thanks for posting it. I do remember power cuts in 78 and 77, and coming home to darkness and a dinner of sandwiches, eaten by candlelight - the small candles which lasted for ages and smelt funny. Thank you, beloved trade unions and crap 70s government.

Ahh yes, the good old seventies - you could always rely on a powercut when it snowed or if there was a storm :)
