  • @timeout42day Hi Val, Thank you for your wonderful comment. I don't think putting me in a bottle would be such a good idea. Because I would have to change my name to Genie and would not be able to live up to any and all expectations that come with living in a bottle. I will, however, look into the e cigarettes and see what I can find..

    Breathe Well my Friend,

    Michael Riser

  • I was diagnosed with COPD at 38. I have had pnumonia 7 times. I get deathly sick usually 2 times every fall and winter. It gets progressively worse every year. I was Hospitalized with the last to bouts and the last time I quit breathing and went unconcious for 20 hours. The thing I don't understand is I seem fine with breathing. I don't know I have COPD until I'm critically I'll. Flu and pnomia vaccines make no difference. I know every fall to get ready it's comming. What do I do?

  • @jhartist123 The flu and pnuemonia shots do not prevent you from becoming ill, they are to lessen the impact of the illness. Make sure you was your hands regularly and use a hand sanitizer afterward. Avoid touching your nose, mouth, or facial area if you can. Try to avoid being around people who are sick during the flu and cold season. If you must be around them you may need to wear a mask over your nose and mouth to help protect you. You should also eat healthy meals and exercise regularly.

  • thanks for posting.

  • I have copd as well (emphysema). I will argue with you about the statement that it's not a death sentence....it just depends how long it takes based on your level of obstruction, etc. When I was diagnosed I was already severe. My last pft was fev1 30% and dlco 19%.

  • im 14, and i get 2nd hand smoke 24/7 for 8 years now, im not sure if i have it but i have all the symptoms

  • Mike, since i watched this video the first time, I quit smoking. In April I had a spell of pneumonia and nearly died. While in the hospital, I told my husband to get rid of the cigarettes, ashtrays, lighters because I was ready to quit. I said, "I HAVE to, it's killing me, honey." He's been such a sweetheart, so supportive and gives me the inspiration to stay quit. I won't lie. It's a battle of willpower every day. Not a day goes by that I don't want a cigarette. But I know I'll win!!

  • @mriser Great to hear from you. I watch your videos at least once a week.

  • Also remember that if your are young in your 20,30,40 and even 50's your COPD can also be cause by Alpha-1 Antitsypsin Disease. I have Alpha-1 and found out at 43 years old. Get your self tested and get treatment. Im lung affected emphysema and just had 2 severe attacks in the middle of the night. I do what is best for my health and try and exercise. Thank you for the video

  • Muhammad Aziz, a Kurdish victim of 1988 Gas attack of the city of Halabja, Iraq,He has 100% disability due to his severe chronic lung disease,He is in an urgent need of medical treatment because of injuries to his respiratory system. due to the inhalation of chemical gases during the bombardment of Halabja on march 16 1988 He is a candidate for lung transplant but the waiting list is long and it may become too late for him when one is ready because of the fast deterioration of his lungs

  • The only way to quit is the easy way by Alan Carr, just read the book and you will be free, so......sad to see this, have been a smoker for 30 years and have quit the easy way
