Arch Pharm Res. 2003 Feb;26(2):157-61.

The use of amygdalin as a useful compound in the treatment of cancer has been controversial due to studies from the 1970's and 1980's that appeared to prove that amygdalin had no therapeutic value. There is now sizable contradiction within the medical literature regarding amygdalin and cancer. There is also controversy regarding the alleged toxicity of amygdalin. Currently, the United Kingdoms Committee on Toxicology and the WHO conclude that consuming over two apricot kernels per day could lead to fatal health consequences.
