@haggidubious whilst I dont know much about smoking it, i'd imagine its about as beneficial is setting fire to an asprin and inhaling the fumes in order to cure a headache.... I;m not sure that setting fire to it is a good delivery method.

except only 2% of potheads use weed for medical purposes. it doesn't matter if weed can cure cancer, because that's not what people will use it for.

@gug1970 Oh I see, burning cannabis isn't THE most efficient way to release the chemicals so you were right in that sense. I think extraction for sublingual use is probably the best way, but I doubt it will happen anytime soon and be accept by the general population.

@coldheartless1990 Dont get me wrong, i have no problem with people smoking cannabis at all for whatever reason. I'm just talking about getting maximum health benefit.

@gug1970 Your analogy is ridiculous :).

@EncognitiveVids The cannabinoids are found to have particular application as neuroprotectants, for example in limiting neurological damage following ischemic insults, such as stroke and trauma, or in the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease and HIV dementia.
-
@EncognitiveVids Cannabinoids have been found to have antioxidant properties, unrelated to NMDA receptor antagonism. This new found property makes cannabinoids useful in the treatment and prophylaxis of wide variety of oxidation associated diseases, such as ischemic, age-related, inflammatory and autoimmune diseases.

I'm a smoker, but had always considered these claims deluded to say the least. Interesting to hear this.

@haggidubious I used to smoke it. It made me so I quit. I'm on the sidelines on the issue. If you google "cannabinoids thc cancer treatment," a few studies should show up.
