Actually, Jerry Cantrell wrote the lyrics and music for Down In A Hole. Guess it was about depression. It sure seems like it was Layne's life story song though, huh? RIP Layne

I love metal, love covers too! i think fans of metal recognize good musicianship. check out all the positive responses he got for his maiden cover "wasted years"

Ryan will be around much longer than AIC could ever hope, he is the most under-rated artist in the last 15 years. He might be the second coming of Dylan. I'm a huge Alice in Chains fan, and I love this cover of Down in a Hole. He did it justice by keeping what made it worth listening to in the first place, but delivering it with his own style. Well done.
