The Royal Families main justification for spending 62p per person in the UK per year is that they attract tourists the the UK. If they really want to attract tourist they should make a theme park - Complete with Diana Dodgems.

@ehpl true. any different to Cameron (as he is of Baronial stock), what of industrialists? Bankers? Land, oil, mineral speculators? Hedge fund operators? None of them feel any sense of duty yet are much more disruptive, money grubbing, economy shattering bastards than mad old Lizzy living in Windsor...

@lebronjamesXD dont need to work XD the royals, through rightful dynastic inheritance, as well as from just buying stuff are some of the biggest land owners in the UK, the Duchy of Lancaster alone I think brings in over £3 million in rents... same for many of the few remaining great houses-Dukes of Devonshire own much of Devon n Derbyshire... In terms of a drain on the people, the US President, ambassadors, even White House catering is a much greater drain then monarchial demands

@reallybigdave1 When William becomes King,Catherine becomes Queen Consort of Great Britain.She is only going to be a CONSORT--wife of the reigning king.Catherine will never be Queen Regnant,like Elizabeth II because she is not an heir nor is she in Line of Succession.She is simply the spouse who bears the honorific of her husband's titles;Catherine will not have powers to reign like Elizabeth II.When William dies,his heir becomes the next monarch.Catherine is not an heir and can never be REGNANT

@SullivanKatie whaaat?! naaah load of crap. camilla is duchess of cornwall, princess of wales. queen dies, she should be queen with charles as king (tho probs not coz of the dianna stuff). Charlie eventually dies, William V plus Queen Kate. You do not have to be descended, merely spouse of the reigning monarch :)
