If a god interacted with the universe by way of magic and effected the planet using miracles like ( curing diseases instantly, sending supernatural beings, and stopping natural disasters) we'd have good empirical evidence for god. Most theologians attempt to use philosophy but with such an extraordinary claim empirical evidence is necessary. It would also help if it happened and could be recorded with our technology.
