This flythrough over The University of Calgary shows the successfull integration between LiDAR data and high resolution true-orthorectified aerial photographs.
This is part of my PhD research that involves integration of LiDAR, Photogrammetry, and GIS for improved realistic 3D visualization.
Well there is a number of sw used from point to point.
The Building DBM modelling was semi-automated using an extension that I developed using ArcObjects. The orthophoto was then generated using own developed program with the DTM + DBM as height source thus making the building boundaries crispier. I modelled somethings such as monuments and street furniture on sketchup, then joined everything on ArcScene (ArcGIS' 3D Analyst Extension).
Finally I used camtasia and/or windows movi maker to produce the final videos, adding the captions, music and stuff.
Damm, that's tremendous, I start soon my Master with similar topic and I have so many questions to you.. What programs did you use?

Hi, please read the updated video details. This is part of my PhD but still have a lot to do which will cover in deep the details about automating the DBM generation process and integration with GIS Databases.
