The Reinhardt Institute, located in the middle of the picturesque Brandenburg countryside, is home to juvenile delinquents from across northern Germany. Drug addicts, schizophrenics and nymphomaniacs share living facilities with a group of militant and highly unorthodox counselors. But when a biological terrorist attack causes the villagers in the town next door to wake from the dead, these misfits are the only ones left who can stop the epidemic... it's a smack down the likes of which the world has never seen, as the Urban Scumbags take on the Countryside Zombies.
Urban Scumbags vs. Countryside Zombies (USCZ) was originally shot in 1991 in the residential district of Zehlendorf in Berlin. With a budget of only 2,000 deutschmarks, the cast and crew spent every weekend that year either on set or in post production.
With the 20th anniversary of the underground classic approaching, we plan a remake of the film using modern technology and professional actors. Shooting is scheduled to begin in 2009. The new script is being written by Heather DeLisle, with additional input from Scumbags creator Sebastian Panneck and Maxim Matthew.
