An answer to the common question from students, "When am I ever gonna use this stuff?" This episode of Math In Action features Sgt. Rob Kreider of the CHP MAIT (California Highway Patrol Multidisciplinary Accident Investigation Team). Sgt. Kreider discusses how the CHP uses mathematics at the scene of an accident to determine the speed of the vehicles involved. Sgt. Kreider uses measurements, an equation involving square roots and unit analysis.
