@steve2746 No I nevr said it was NT, grace u started that convstn, I said God fnd grace n Noah, guess u did not understnd that grace not the same as JC sacrifice 4 us & to reach back 2 those undr OT. This grace is favor not nec unmerited, manner as n his Noah's charactr. I hav no prob w/that last stmnt u made abt Christ, I agree.

@steve2746 Nothing it is my free biblical adv to you, neither does getting knocked off a horse. Again I nevr said we access grace by works I say we access/come n contact w the benefits of grace by OBEDIENCE. Bestow can also mean to put to use. AS A MATTER OF FACT I NEVR SAID ANYTHING ABOUT GRACE, I WAS EXPLAING FAITH IN RESPONSE 2 UR ORIG QUEST, GRACE WAS & WORKS BY GRACE WERE INTRO BY U NOT ME.

@steve2746 U access/come n contact w/HS by obedience to the Word. But U can do works pleasing to God w/o HS Cornelius is a perfect exampl Acts 10, again u will not reap the spiritual benefits of HS w/o obedience to the word of God. I think we r getting closer to an undrstng.Of grace etc.

@steve2746 No we have access to grace w/o doing any thing , maybe I have had a poor use of the word access, My bad. What I'm saying is a better word perhaps than access would be to come in contact w/grace you MUST obey God's com.

8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. -People without the Holy Spirit. You must have the Holy Spirit to do works pleasing to God. How can one obey God when they can't understand His word? How do we access the Holy Spirit?

@6153calme -by the way u were not hand picked by JC as Paul was. What does this have to do with our discussion? We were talking about accessing grace not getting knocked off a horse. Where you and I differ is what is biblical grace. You say it is something you access by works. The bible says it is not works nor accessed by works but a free gift.; Bestowed( to bestow means to give.) to the one who believes in the finished work of Christ and is the cause of our obedience not the result of obed.

Obedience does not come by grace, u r free to obey or not grace will still be there. Neithr is grace by obedience.U still don't quite get it.UR salvation depends on ur obedience. No obedience no salvation, grace is still there.

If by bestow meang put to use this seems to be the use of bestow bec he says he laboured. U will not be stopped by JC on the Damascus rd or any road, u r told what 2 do by the writn wrd. Once u do as God comnds then VOILA uv not only accessd, contacted but put 2 use (bestow) God's grace. End of story

@6153calme You get out of context when you leave out the next verse.Phil. 2:13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

You work out what God has put in you by grace! I've never said you do nothing. What I've said is obedience comes by grace not grace by obedience. Christ gets all the glory if I can access grace on my own I have reason to boast.
