how did you get this bass drum to sound like that. what mic/compression did you use?

I have exactly the same drums, but mine just sound less fat.. please tell me!

It was recorded with the AKG D112 inside the kick, pretty much in the middle.

in terms of eq, it was scooped in the middle range and had a closed-q boost on the high range

in terms of compression I think it was something with a ratio of 4:1 with fast attack. maybe some multiband compression as well.

it is also well balanced with the room sound, that's why you get a deeper, fatter sound, that you would get just with the close miking.

Hey man!! I just bought this same kit!! I just want to change the stock heads for some new evans o remos. What kinda head do you think is the best for this kit? I was thinking about remo weatherking emperor or evans ec2. I'm already using a evans emad on the bass and sounds sick!! But tell me your opinion please and finally what do you thing about the kit in general?
