This is a demonstration of the new farming topology support introduced in WebSphere Portal version 7.0. Portal farms are series of independent instances of portal servers that behave like a traditional cluster but are far easier to manage and scale. This demo shows the portal farm in action on Amazon's Elastic Computing Cloud using its AutoScale service to automatically grow and shrink the size of the farm based on capacity needs.
Impressive feature , seems to be a good solution for wok load management , couple of questions though ..
can any one share the experience on using websphere portal in cloud for a production environment.
How different is the portal administration ? like patching and updating the configuration ?Integrating Enterprise User repository ? Sigle Sign on ..I feel it should be really challenging ..any thoughts and experience you can share could be of great help in understanding the challenges..
