Correct. By the voluteer group, Friends of the Valley Railroad. Work started just about 8:00 AM,
by 4:30 PM, the work site had been cleaned up
and the volunteers had departed.

The Connecticut Valley Railroad, came under the control of the New Haven in the 1880s. When New Haven was merged into Penn Central, the Valley line was not included and abandoned.

BTW, the Hadlyme station is a reproduction of the former South Britain station, on the old line that ran between Waterbury and Danbury.

I'll be working as a trainman on the train Saturday. I'll be sure to wave if someone's there.
