  • Are any Reading T1's able to be restored to running condition?

  • xxxDeath9572xxx. Reading 2100 is in operating condistion , it's for sale too. if you have 2 million Dollars. It's located out in WA.

  • Haha, I wish Len. How did 2100 end up in Washington?

  • xxxDeath9572xxx, Someone bought it from the scrapper in MD. and it went to Morristown & Eire where it was converted to oil fired it ran a few times there and then it was sold to some one in Canda and then sold to some one in WA. now it's up for sale again.

    Hope that helped.

  • 2:07 I hear that whistle a LOT when the steam locomotives at a railroad museum in my neighborhood are fired up.

  • 2102 wore the hooter whistle when it dragged the coal cars, like the reading used on freight, the other was its passenger whistle.

  • 2100, operable but requires replacement of grates and return to Pennsylvania.

2101, needs total teardown to remediate fire damage, also needs paint.

2102, needs some mechanical work that has been deferred for some reason.

    2124, needs complete boiler rebuild.

At least three of them could be run again, all four if you had enough money.

  • That was fabulous......*****

  • @idiot00 cause she is to epic for just one whistle..

  • why does 2102 have two different whistles?

  • @Conrail6370 - They royally screwed that that conversion to oil firing, though. They basically jammed a flamethrower in there and tried to pass it off as an oil burner. She'll run but she'd either need a proper oil conversion on reverted back to coal.

  • @HaloCE14 - Yeah, how did we get Wisconsin steam on this video and not one second of the New Hope & Ivyland? ;-)

  • @Conrail6370 Who do you contact if you want to buy it and if there is one, is there an ad for it online somewhere?

  • Don't we all pine for the day that a Reading T1 pulls a coal drag through these mountains again
