  • Are the Lukla approach coming soon. Do you know a site where I can download the Lukla airport?

  • @TheAirCrashVidoes

Lukla is pretty straight forward, basically a visual approach with a slopped runway and no way out once committed to the landing. I'll do it after I get a chance to talk to one of the pilots that has actually flown in there.

I'm not sure where you can find the scenery, I think I googled it a long time ago.

  • No doubt there are many videos on you tube about reading charts and flight procedures, but this published by Mr. fsx404 is the most comprehensive, concise and honest I've found. No doubt he knows what he is saying. Thank you very much for your input.

  • Great video.. i was wondering if you would be able to send me that file victor245@hotmail.com

ATC has priorities, safety, separation etc etc. ATC doesn't care whether you do it with VNAV, AP or manually. You descend when the ATC tells you to, not when you programmed it into you VNAV. They know when you need to start a descent, so they wont mess you up. If it is not when you expected, then it is up to the pilot to adjust, unless it is a safety issue.

You can always make a request from the ATC, and they might work with you but not always, especially in congested areas.

  • @FSX404 But in real life do you think the ATC always knows when you are about to descend? And thought when they assign you an approach, when they tell you "turn left heading 140", Won't you already be turning with LNAV?

  • @FlyUPS767

BTW, in case of Tonconitn, in real life the ATC will vector you to the first point, MELVO I thin, and then just clear you for the approach. So you will have to do the whole thing. In MSFS, the ATC is very generic and always gives you pretty much the same vectoring for every approach, which is not true in real life.

  • @FlyUPS767

ATC's will usually vector you on to final same as MSFS. Plates are used for all the info about the approach, or comm failure.

When you file your flight plan, there is a code you put in after your plane type (example C182/U), that U denotes the NAV equipment on the plane, so the ATC always knows what he/she can give you.

Do what the ATC tells you, not what your FMC tells you, unless its a safety issue or you're are to break a rule, in that case inform the ATC you can't comply.

  • FSX 404, I have a few questions, In real life when they assign you an approach will they give you heading directions like in msfs? And can you tell the ATC that your using VNAV for the approach or VS only? And finally, when your T/D message appears in your FMC and gets to 0 and the ATC has'nt told you to start descending, what do you do? declare your descent and approach or just wait for the atc to give you instrusctions?

    Thanks
