  • I don't find this advice to be helpful at all. Eating a nutritious, energy packed small meal a half hour to an hour before your cardio will allow you to run without feeling sick and still give you the energy you need to push yourself harder. You'll be burning a lot of calories anyway doing your cardio, and if you're eating small meals, much of the rest will be burned off throughout the day through collateral expenditure. Following this advice is splitting hairs, and could hurt your workout.

  • hey dont believe this guy, i am afriad to say he is wrong.

    Because the best time to do cardio is when u feel like it.

    dont cardio int he morning on an empty stomach is bad, because u dont have the enough energy to support ur cardio (intense cardio , NOT walking). so just do it when u feel like it.

  • im not a big fan of cardio in the morning on an empty stomach because there's 9 calories in 1 gram of fat and 4 in one gram of protein so your body will want to use energy in the most efficient way it can getting the calories as quickly as it can using 4 calories instead of 9, burning muscle rather than fat.

  • just listen to your body people...some of us can wake up in the morning and go to the gym without eating, while other get lightheaded.....so just know your body and that is the best way. Ya its not good to fill up before a workout....but eat a fat free yogurt or something before you hit the gym and u get the best of both worlds:)

  • @hellolilkidz its because your body is used to being fed in the morning. Your body has plenty of stored calories and energy. Its really not that bad. I lose weight doing that and so have a few of my friends. Nutrition specialists in todays market of course would constantly try to get you to feed your face.

  • @hellolilkidz I think you focus more on performance ("push yourself harder") whereas he talks slimming down (as fast but balanced as possible), there's no need to always push so hard for that purpose. Besides, I think he caters more for those who work full time thus need something easy to do before or after work, so they can do it every or every other day, not only on weekends (frequency is key). Anyway to me the bottom line is: get your own feeling on it and do what best fits you, but do it...

  • I've been running in the morning its great, you have to refuel afterwards yeah..The Army does it all the time, Cardio at 5am 5:30am

  • everything that came out his mouth was resentful and utter bullshit. You cant just take out stored fat and burn it whenever you work out. If you are NOT eating you will only mess up your metabolism and by doing so your body will store fat out of every meal you are getting, because you will force your body into a starvation mode.

    Eat healty and do cardio everyday when you feel like it. I do mine everywhere from 18:00 to 22:00 bicycling atleast 20min, I do it at that time cause its chill out side

  • I will faint if I go to the gym on an empty stomach. I don't find this useful.
