How to make an iPhone ringtone from any mp3. This method does not require a jailbroken iPhone and takes only a couple of minutes.
Please watch in HD to easily see what is being done.
I use the program 'Audacity' to select the part of the track I require (it must be less than 35 seconds for the iPhone to accept it as a ringtone) then I save selection as MP3.
Then drag this file into iTunes.
Right click on the file and click 'convert to AAC'.
Locate this AAC version in windows explorer by right clicking on it in iTunes and selecting show in explorer.
Now rename the file ending in M4a to M4r.
Now drag this file into iTunes near the ringtone section.
Check in ringtones and there it is, ready to sync.
To create this video I used Camstudio with the XVID MPEG-4 codec
