Thanks for the help! I'm in the process of a surrealistic-style painting where I'm using clouds and I just couldn't get them to look, well, like clouds. This really helps!

the gray purple color is right on. i think you went too far with the highlights but i realize you're giving a lesson. good stuff!!

Thank you. I hate to say it, but I find the same thing with other instructors I've seen and worked with. Not enough explanation of the "how" and "why". Just going through the motions. I approach every class from the student's viewpoint and try to elaborate on every aspect, in detail.

just bought that crap for 10$, applied before using oil colors. DIDNT do a crap, god damnit colors still turn into grains and DO NOT mix, wth -.-

@mytubenik Check your paint tubes. When you say "it's turning into grains", I'd be willing to bet you have some Acrylic paint that you're trying to mix with your Oils. That won't work and it will "pill" up. I've seen my students do this before.
