Jerome Loser was 75 years old when he undertook the task of stabilizing a decaying old civil war era Italianate brick house. "The Story of the Old Brick" explores the history of the old house and documents the four-year effort of Jerome and his family to stop this historic home from decaying into history.
@jxn47 No No No No. Please tell me that isn't so. I'm heartbroken. How did that happen?
But congratulations and thanks to Duane Busick for his sensitive and poignant treatment
of this story.

Definitely worth watching all nine segments. We loved this house, passing by every so often. It's bittersweet to see this now, knowing that finally, The Old Brick came down. The field there is barren and empty, but knowing Mr. Loser loved the old home so much makes it a little easier to bear. God bless, Mr. Loser.

What a WONDERFUL family & a noble effort.
I've been watching historic houses being demolished for lack of interest or funding.
To think that private citizens are brave enough to step in where historical/preservation societies etc have failed, & refuse to allow the history of their towns to disappear.
I applaud you all
