Samsung & Sony use the Same LCD-Panels.
Sony gets the First Pick with Parts, and Therefore gets some of the Best.
The W Series has a Unique Speaker-Setup inside the Panel. It have 4 Speakers: 2 Mid-Range speakers in the Bottom, and 2 Tweeters on the Back.
Thank God the Tweeters are on the Back, cause I'm thinking about putting Tape over them!! Too Much High-Frequency!! <:P

I just got the 65 Inch W5100, and I don't have the 'crappy blackness' problem mentioned below.
However, I am having it Exchanged for Another one, because of a Dead Pixel-Issue.
For $4500, it should NEVER have ANY Dead Pixels!!!!

That's because Samsung makes the best LCDs, just like Panasonic and Pioneer make the best plasmas (well, Pioneer "USED" to make plasmas, not anymore).

Got this one myself, the blackness of it is a bit crappy if u want bright colors around, and im comparing with Samsung 46" 6 series.
Kind of dissapointed but im still going through major color changes in the manues as i type.

I have just bought this TV. What is the SD picture like? I will be using an xbox 360 and sky+ on it. I also heard that it makes a weired "humming" noise from the back? Is this true?

because i heard from other people on the ethernet that the sound is not the best, to bad!?

The sound is only good. I have everything connected to home theater and it's much better.Buy yourself a good home theater and then fully enjoys the TV.
