@SpikeMatthews I didnt think Wonderful was exactly dissapointing but it seemed a bit of a mis-mash and is the Madness album I've gone back to least, an album based on this sound would have been more succesful in 1999 I think - Norton on the other hand...

Bought this at the time as a Madness fan, listened once then in a cupboard for 15 years (the record not me) - just realised how brill it was, much fresher with more of the original Madness energy than 'Wonderful'.

@spalf73 I agree - with the exception of 'Drip-Fed Fred', Wonderful was very disappointing. Do you have the Crunch album or just this single? There's a slow-skanking version of 'Fur Elise' on there I just love.

@SpikeMatthews Seriously, you thought Wonderful was disappointing? (scratches head)

@KeeKeeDi It was OK, but no more than that. I'll admit I like the social commentary of Johnny the Horse (why oh why did they have to censor it for the single version?) and Lovestruck has grown on me, but... meh...
The Liberty of Norton Folgate, on the other hand is pure class.

@SpikeMatthews I agree The Liberty Of Norton Folgate is a top class album but Wonderful really showcased their creativity at that time. Being older and wiser. it had new sounds and styles and great writing. I just feel it wasn't promoted enough at the time.

@KeeKeeDi Agreed on the last bit at least. I suppose they weren't in either camp as hip and young or a mature albums-band type.
