  • The Gordon's have let themselves go a bit...

  • The arm swing is gone. It was put there for "effect" in the beginning. Then it was realized anachronistic. The manual of arms is from the 1871 version. Sadly because people are hard to come by or people leaving the group for various reasons it has been hard to maintain a core group we once enjoyed. Try running this organization and you'll see just how hard it is but it is still the best one out there!

  • lol, nobody around seems to care about these old men. pathetic tax syphoners.

  • A questions about the drummer's uniforms. I see the side drums are in Scarlett, but base and tenor drums are in archer green or similer color. How come? When I saw the 1991 USA tour all the drums were in Scarlet at that time. Can any old members explain the reason. A great video of one of the finest regimental pipes bands aeround. I am glad to have some videos and recordings of them.

  • This is a rare video. Despite its choppy quality its always special to see the old regimental bands with Pipes & Drums. This looks like part of a Beat Retreat ceremony with the two bands on parade. The Scots DGs were famed for the combined sound of "Amazing Grace" type stuff but the other Scottish regimental bands and pipes could do it as well. I was pleased to see the Pipes & Drums when they toured the USA in 1991 with the Coldstreams and considered it one of the best tours. Great pipe band.

  • @firebasedems we're on the web. This site won't let me publish the web address by search under bydand forever, don't forget the forever.

  • they're following the drill from "Field Exercise and Evolutions of Infantry, 1867" most likely - close order drill in the 1860's did not allow for swinging of arms while on the march.

  • where can i get a replica coat like those?

  • Forgot to swing their arms
