I'm considered legally blind. I have very low vision and can still see enough to get around and do work. I get SSI and Social security, less than $800 a month. I survive and I do what I can to make it. I am in college to become an Assistive Technology Specialist, thats a person that trains people who are disabled to use special devices and software to use computers and the internet. I want to work, I want to position myself to become a success. Not everyone on public assistance is bad.

@evilfreethinker Nobody's claiming that, and clearly you're working to fulfill human potential while just temporarily using those programs to help you, which is great and was the origional intent of the them in the first place.

My problem is, let's say you become very successful at what you do by working hard and end up being oober-rich. Guess what? The far left would have you forget that work and take you wealth and give it to the people in this video. That's fair?

It's not clear who these people were or what specific program they were lined up for. The video 'interviews' a few individuals who display ignorance, but it is fallacious to extrapolate the attitudes of others in line or in society from this 'data.' The disagreements in the comments section regarding which programs qualify as entitlements exemplify how difficult these issues can be to discuss--if we can't agree on what we are arguing about, how can we ever agree on what to do about them?

to disabled to work my ass.was in co for 2 years. college is full of people who don't work! they claim the can't work but they show up on time for class to do what, work for a degree in hopes of making a certian wage. its not you can't work you don't want to get paid what little your worth so ya want me to pay for you school. I work at a factory, can't get assistance cause I make to much gross income. after half is gone in insurance &taxes I can't afford school. sure couldn't go ft as I work!

@evilfreethinker I also think that mandatory drug screening would be a good idea. If you charge 25 dollars to apply for welfare there would be little to no cost on the government which means our taxes can stay low. Obviously there would be some waivers for the fee and waivers for persons who take medication but everybody would get one. This would cost much less than a new IT network, although it is not necessarily a bad idea. for maybe when the economy is more stable.

@TheDevilDoctor1 One problem government has is in Information Technology, it's horribly inefficient and slow. Generations of hardware and proprietary software across multiple platforms makes for a nightmare to sort out. I mean come on, my local Social Security office is still using windows 98 on some machines. If they could make the systems more agile and communicate effectively across departments, maybe we could cut down on the fraud and waste so dead people aren't having checks cashed etc.
