Barack Hussein Obama II born August 4, 1961 is the President-elect of the United States and the first African American to be elected President of the United States. Obama was the junior United States Senator from Illinois from 2005 until he resigned on November 16, 2008, following his election to the Presidency. His term of office as the 44th U.S. president begins January 20, 2009.

He is a graduate of Columbia University and Harvard Law School, where he was president of the Harvard Law Review. Obama worked as a community organizer and practiced as a civil rights attorney before serving three terms in the Illinois Senate from 1997 to 2004. He also taught constitutional law at the University of Chicago Law School from 1992 to 2004. Following an unsuccessful bid for a seat in the U.S. House of Representatives in 2000, he announced his campaign for the U.S. Senate in January 2003, won a primary victory in March 2004, and was elected to the Senate in November 2004. Obama delivered the keynote address at the Democratic National Convention in July 2004.

As a member of the Democratic minority in the 109th Congress, he helped create legislation to control conventional weapons and to promote greater public accountability in the use of federal funds. He also made official trips to Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. During the 110th Congress, he helped create legislation regarding lobbying and electoral fraud, climate change, nuclear terrorism, and care for U.S. military personnel returning from combat assignments in Iraq and Afghanistan.

  • answer one question give me the definition of "green" I'm green your green just like I'm rich your rich and is is is

  • Obviously not engineering students

no... he won't bring more green jobs

wise up... hope is not a strategy

  • @st4ticblu3 - Continued: Last - Free trade/market is the problem n history shows the solution protection n subsidies combined in all nations. Trade is WASTEFUL and harmful to the Environment. The world will be prosperous when all nations implement a Make it Here to Sell it here law; coupled with revenue tariffs for those imports of component parts coupled with domestic ownership (ie. Sony America owned by Americans) in franchises; coupled with a Living Wage n worker rights worldover.

  • @st4ticblu3 -- Continued: By 1900 we were the leading manufacturing nation, which coupled with being the leading agriculutural nation and commercial nation (Harmony of Interests was our philosophy - all three are vital, not just one: like the mantra 'we're a service economy' nonsense), gave us a greater standard of living than 'free trade/market' British Empire who once was a leader when Mercantilist (ie. high tariffs n subsidies combined).

  • @st4ticblu3 - True. Oursourcing and the stripping of our vital industries is the real problem today. Our country was built up with High Tariffs advocated by Jefferson's party as an alternative to Hamilton's Revenue Tariffs (below 40%) coupled with subsidies to industry to help develop them (we are now at colonial levels of manufacturing again) as Washington/Madison and other Founder's knew was important for Independence and prosperity. The original GOP implemented 49% tariffs and we became #1.

  • I share the 'dream' in this video. The problem about 'green' jobs is that it has simply become rhetoric. Green jobs if they mean they eliminate 'real' pollution, are friendlier to our rivers, streams, land, and air, and make our products less hazardous and more efficient; would be a wonderful thing and we should get to work rebuilding our manufacturing base on that premise. If Green jobs means the nonsense of cap n trade based on falsified data (see climategate) then I am 100000% against them.

  • That is true, The socialist may as well tax o2, I guess that will be next.

  • What the HELL are green jobs and who is going to decide if a job is green? DREAMS of HOPE and CHANGE is all Obama "fans" have and that ain't much. Jeez, to listen to these Obama "fans" I am saddened by the fact they all live in such a DREAM world.

  • Well the US has already outsourced 20,000 green jobs to other countries. Well, he broke all his other promises, why should it suprise anyone anymore.

Omaba supporters need to wake up and read the articles they don't want too. Get your heads out of the sand and do something before it is to late.

  • No, he is going to make it easier for blacks to take jobs that whites so-call are too COWARDLY to give back.... that and supporting muslims in a muslim crazed world!!!
