Obviously i know understanding it is very important but i heard giving up recitation of the Qur'an is a big sin? For example in my masjid some people tell me to read surah Ya-Sin (because of the virtues) after we pray Fajr salah. Is there any point of me reading this surah even if i dont undertsand it?

  • @ShukurKay

We are not saying not to recite the Qur'aan. I am just laying emphasis on the reflection aspect and implementation. Suraah Yaseen has no such virtues as claimed by some since the narrations concerning it are inauthentic and can not be attributed back to the Messenger of Allaah.

  • I got the first view!!!!!!!!

  • May Allah swt forgive me. I told the story about the Qur'an to someone but i only said it because someone told him that the recitation of the Qur'an is not important and that understanding it is only important.

  • Wow. I didn't even realize some of the subliminal messages put in these forwards. I watched all the Do Not Forward videos and I am truly amazed. May Allah (swt) protect us!

  • Sometimes reading comes before understanding. When you read it you get rewards from allah.

  • @OneWayToParadise how can it be haram for those without qualifications to spread knowledge??not all people can afford to have arabic lessons or to go jamia to become an alim or alimah!!!!!this is nor right!it is very offensive to many people. im sorry if im offending anyone bit this is totally unfair. yes i agree that many people forward wronfg stuff but you cannot say that ALL "forwards" are wrong.

  • im very confused. on the part one it saad you can not spread knowledge unless you are qulified???how can that be. imnot an alim or anything so does that mean it is haram for me to spread dawah or knowledge. how can that be. i konw some muslims who are not qulified but are very into thed deen. this is not fair, some people do not have the money to attend jamia to get these qulifications!!!!so how can you say its haram for one who is not qulified to spread knowledge???
