@IWASONCEAPLEBE ...What counts most is that the person who is the new Master of this sword knows it wasn't chipped. I think it was a shadow of the sword stand...an optical illusion so to speak. Haz

@Hazamayakiba I think its the tempering process that put the pseudo-chipped appearance to the blade. Its the pattern that heating, rapid cooling and re-heating and re-cooling imparts to the iron.
