The House of Lords debates the continuing problem of mice running about the Palace of Westminster, and the possibility of procuring a hypoallergenic cat to eat them.
Recorded on Wednesday March 3, 2010, 3:07 p.m.
The people who speak, in order, are:
- Baroness Finlay of Llandaff (asks the initial question)
- The Chairman of Committees Lord Brabazon of Tara.
- Lord Bradshaw (@ 2:58)
- Lord Pilkington of Oxenford (@ 4:18)
- Baroness Symons of Vernham Dean (@ 4:54)
So, the Palace of Westminster needs more pussies. I knew it.

@dw053408 House of Lords isn't a parallel to our Senate so I'm not sure if this is ripe for a direct comparison.

I have never seen a more well-attended Lords meeting. I guess mice is a hot topic!

@dw053408 I don't know what to say mate. I think they have more time on their hands than the members of the House of Commons. As an Englishman I am just proud of the way they tackled such a monumental issue with decorum and grace. Thats the main thing ay?

is this some kind of joke, why is this an issue for the higher chamber of the legislature? not trying to be critical, this is a genuine question. american by the way.

Totally stupid that they are discussing mice in the building, but I HATE the Commons, this is so refreshing.
