You say, "orphans in the US have a chance at a life once they leave the system." But the facts aren't positive for children who remain without families. Google for "aging out" and you'll get a lot of information on what it's like for children in the U.S. who have no families to care for them.
It's not "harder", necessarily. It's harder in some ways, and easier in other ways.

@eelwoman75 I don't know that it has to do with most American's not wanting them, yes they do need loving permanent families and permanent homes, I am an anthropologist, I think it has more to do, the fact that the problems the orphans here have orphans abroad would love to have, the problems Americans have in general there are others all over the world that would gladly trade. Believe it or not the homeless in America are more affluent than others worldwide

@aodoco True. However most children in need of adoptive homes domestically are older African American children who need to be placed with siblings. These are great kids too... but unfortunately, most Americans don't prefer them.

@Kiljan137 I was adopted here in the US. I've always known I was adopted and I don't mind it at all. If I wasn't adopted my life would have been pretty crappy (I found out who my birthmom was). Even though its interesting to meet my biological family, my adoptive family is my "real" family.

@Sharon19701988 I have already adopted domestically. Thanks.

After I watched this, I hugged my mom for doing such a great thing, she adopted a homeless baby boy who was left in the hospital by his birth mother. Soon I will leave my mothers house and hope that this baby boy will grow up not to be rebellious, and would not have a bitter heart against his birth mother, I hope he would feel thankful to God and that he will accept us as his family as we have accepted him. We may not be blood related but I love my new baby brother, Jason.

It this video meant to explain the beginning of int. adoption in Korea or is it meant to promote adoptional adoption in Korea today?
If it is to promote int adoption, then that's dishonest and disgusting. Where are the images of the modern Korea, the 11th largest economy of the world, with their healthy single mothers relinquishing their children and the americain prospective parents acting like votour in the name of some sad old pictures taken when Korea was poor?
