Powerful new weapons of Sea shepherd

The first skirmish between Sea Shepherd and the whalers for 2009-10 ended inconclusively, with the Steve Irwin stopping in port for more fuel-in a place the Shonan Maru #2 cannot follow. Meanwhile, the Ady Gil has no doubt easily outrun the Shonan Maru #2 and is on its way to intercept the main whaling fleet.

When they get there, they will make good use of nonlethal but powerful new weapons first used on the Shonan Maru:A "photonic disruptor" laser that can blind harpoon gunners for about one minute(enough for a whale to escape)-but NOT permanently, water cannon, and even a T-shirt cannon that can fire trhings (maybe bottles of Butyric acid) high in the air if it gets close enough, clearing the Nisshin Maru's defensive netting and contaminating the butchering deck.


The Ady Gil is perhaps the ultimate "Boghammer" or speed gunboat. As a weapons platform, this combines the speed of a traditional "Boghammer" gunboat of similar size with a little more speed and blue-water capability. The Sea Shepherds have chosen a nonlethal weapons package well suited to their needs and mounted it on this ultimate iteration of the fast attack boat.
