This is the bamboo/Ipe/Hickory warbow from Rudderbows Archery. It is an extraordinary bow. Rudderbows has been so supportive of myself and the archery club I am a part of and with this video I wish to put in a good word for Rudderbows.

Bow specs- draw weight: 110#@30" Length: 76" Meets the English 8:5 Warbow ratio and the arrows being shot also meet English Warbow Society Standards.

  • Miss @ 1:34?

  • @JDMTurbonetics Yup! That arrow glanced off a rock and flew into a blackberry patch :)

  • Them arrows cost an arm and a leg! But if you can afford that bow I suppose you can afford the arrows!

  • @MrBagginsEsq Hey MrBagginsEsq! You should get the Rudderbows hickory warbow shafts then make your own arrows! A lot less expensive and hickory makes a fantastic war arrow.

  • you really shouldnt use oak arrows, oak is very hard and heavy wood so your arrows dont fly as far as lighter wood arrows would, try ash or pine, they make good arrows

  • @loadedClownZ Yeah, thanks mate! This vid was made back when I first dived into warbow archery. I now use hickory arrows actually. Despite hickory been a good solid wood, 3/8" hickory shafts fly great, with great speed and hitting power.

P.S. when those oak arrows hit, they hit with a mean punch!

  • Nice bow Dagonet, I know Jim and he makes nice bows. I build them also and Jim was instrumental in my learning, years ago. I like boo , but hickory is my favorite. Arrows I like ash and douglas fir for heavy shafts, Did you know they used to fasten the bodkins arrow head to the rod, (they called it) with wax. Leaves the projectile in the warrior .....Denny

  • Awesone video and great looking bow. And thanks for the kind words!

  • @Dagonet29 yes hickory make great arrows i've heard but where i live cant get hickory so i have never tried, pine fly well but they dont penetrate as good as hardwood but for target shooting they are good. i heard this bow delaminated, what a shame.

  • @warbowgeeks Thanks man! My target was a cardboard box full of paper! hhaha, it was only ten meters away. I just wanted to showcase the bow and such. Unfortunately I left this bow in a hot car for a little too long and it delamanited at one end, so I going to have to repair that soon. I do plan on more videos, and am always building more bows!
