The soaring cost of oil is squeezing motorists and consumers the world over. In Asia, it's forcing governments to slash fuel subsidies, prompting people to take to the streets in protest.

One of the largest cuts to subsidised fuel has been in Malaysia. This week, 101 East looks at the social and economic impacts of rising fuel costs.

  • ya ampun

kalo harga tk naek. org smua pikir supply tkkan habes.

We will run out of oil one dae.

    bersyukur lah BN da subsidise.

  • hahaha y interviewing a person dat didnt finish school? bloody hell, obviously he didnt know nuts about things happen

  • Malaysia is a poor nation because BN doesnt want to help it Country... only themselves.

  • Many countries react and adjust their petrol price immediately as the crude oil price per barrel moves. Immediately is within 1-3 days.

Why must Malaysia only review it on monthly basis?

Assure us the price will not exceed RM2.70 this year?

This is not what we want to listen. We want more than that.

Stupid BN. Still the price too expensive for oil producing country.

  • a success ! a total of 4.4m viewed the fuel debate live between Dato'Seri Anwar & Dato Shabery Cheek 15th July 2008 @ tv3, tv9, astro awani and bernamaTV .. (agenda daily report 17.7.2008) this not including webTVs

  • its good to know that there wl be no fuel/gas price revision till dec2008.

  • we dont want singapore n thailand to enjoy our subsidy.our govt wants to give it directly to our own people.we are the taxpayer not them.

  • Well Fuel in my area is £1.19 per litre and the minimum wage is £5.52 an hour. Then we pay road tax etc. I know it was a big hike but subsidies help keep prices up.

  • i just dont understand.

wth the govn is giving allowance for gas after raising them again & again???!!!!

if they can give allowance then why dont just reduce the price increasement???!!!

increase and the having us to go queue and wait for the allowance... are they too free or they think the ppl are too freee??!!!

they really need to think & plan & count carefully before they act!

Stop doing ridiculous things and then trying to correct with stupid ways

  • malaysia don't even have minimum wages...

dont have to convert UK currency rate to malaysia, just let us get paid & pay at the same rate, that will be good enough us..

but too bad we dont even get that.

next time think before you even open up ur mouth.
