Can anyone tell me what instrument that is in the beginning of the song? It sounds a bit like the mandolin but my brother says he thinks it is a lute? it is really beautiful and I can never figure out what instrument that is.

I myself do not speak German but this song makes me want to learn. this song is just so beautiful that you can not help but love it no matter what language you speak. Also her voice is incredibly unique and I love the breathy qualities she brings to her songs.
