There are two things from which we need to be saved. We need to be saved from death (physical death) and from sin (spiritual death or separation from our Father in Heaven). Our Father in Heaven has made a way possible for all His children to be saved. The way is through His Son who is our Savior and Redeemer, Jesus Christ.

Our Father in Heaven has said, "For behold, this is my work and my glory to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man," (Moses 1:39, Pearl of Great Price).

To me the Gospel was not lost because writings of the apostles where saved and we still have letters written to them. Believers upon this gospel of Christ that was preserved through the writings of the apostels (part of the foundation for the church) was saved. Believes now have those writings, the word of God, to relay on. Believers relied on on the Holy Spirt that is then to help them understand the gospel not human wisdom.

Many People wish to deny the apostacy. Usually for personal gain as they see it. But the apostacy is self evident. Mark 4:12 That seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and their sins should be forgiven them.

Why do you concentrate on things that are so unimportant? Why hold people of the nineteenth century to 21st century standards?
In fact, why always look for the bad, the wrong? Why not look for the good, the right, the spiritual? What GOOD does it do to look for the BAD? You're only hurting yourself!
Anger, hatred, fear, it's like a cancer, eating your soul till it's black and shrivelled. Let it go. Go to God and just let it all go. Look for the good.
