I've been doing a lot of preparation in this game lately and all that has been in vain for another important sidequest.

We enter Wildcat and lack the main advantage being high levels. With our weapons replaced by forks and our equipment removed (as well as lacking all items), our party is weak and unprepared for this battle.

Having a save state helps here a lot, because luck determines whether or not you emerge victorious in this battle.

Our aim is to deplete boss's HP from 610 to 0, 512 of which comes from Ryu's Dragon summon. Nina must be the only person alive and level up, absorbing all the experience.

The boss has three attacks, one being a normal physical that barely leaves the target alive and the other two being way too powerful for our awful HP.

Not only are we interested in him using the normal physical attack as often as possible, but we would also like him not to hit characters crucial to both damage dealing and surviving (no way to revive the fallen, Rand's Wake is not something one can rely on when facing this boy).

In a nutshell: if Nina dies, open state. If Ryu, open state as well. It's ok to see Rand die (which will mean no more healing though), same goes for Sten (his offensive spell can be of some use). It's perfectly fine for Ryu to die after summoning the dragon because his physicals do 1 miserable dmg.

In this video I got lucky with Nina being able to cast spells repeatedly without being hit and also surviving the last turn (it was a physical).

I said Nimufu required a bunch of resetting, but she was pale in comparison to this.

Beating the boss and acting as shown in the video gives all four party members a HP boost of 16, essential since all of them will have to solo in the future.

Music: Radiohead - "Reckoner" (from "In Rainbows").

  • You know you can just kill the gard guys & keep your weapons then slaughter him? no need to fight with forks.

  • @nerbne

    Low level game.

Also, you still have to give up your items and if you fight all the guards, chances are Rand will run out of AP for healing when you most need it.

  • And I ever regret getting chopchop. Its crap later on.

  • True, but there's no need to worry about 16 HP in a normal game where you can compensate for this amount by grinding a bit.

In a low level game there are better ways of dealing damage, thanks Ryu's dragon powers and the neat cooking.

  • Heh, the only other time a fork has ever been a weapon was in MGS3. Nice going Boss ^.^

  • Yeah true...

Most people spam Wfruits and use Dragons.

Wellll....I admit I might use it on the Final boss..Jk.

Oh and....Cooking? I never helped build my town and stuff >_>

  • Nice!

    5/5 and Favorite.

I forgot everyone was weakened from training a little bit, and my hp was extremely low, and I forgot the fact Rand could heal..So I just barraged him, and I survived with Katt that was around 5 hp.

(Can't wait to see Gold fly, Roach, and J.Worm.)
