Landfill Gas to Energy. One unfortunate bi-product of the global economy is waste. Every day around the world waste is created as part of commercial and industrial processes and consumers dispose of unwanted products. Methane generated from the breakdown of this waste represents a major source of anthropogenic GHG emissions. Methane is 21 times more powerful than CO2 as a GHG.
