VSOE from Victoria - Guildford & return on 21 Feb 09.

Train slows down at Streatham Common for the signals. Continues to Victoria via Streatham and Herne Hill.

The Venice Simplon-Orient Express was a private luxury train service travelling from London to Venice.

The original company was founded by James Sherwood in 1982; five years earlier, in 1977, he purchased two of the original carriages at the auction when the Compagnie International des Wagons-Lits withdrew from the Orient Express service, passing on the service to the national railways of France, Germany, and Austria. Over the next few years, he spent a total of $16 million purchasing 35 sleeper, restaurant and Pullman carriages. On 25 May 1982, the first London-Venice run was made.

  • Clan Line looks impressive when seen close up.

  • It's had a quick wash and brush up. Yes it does look much more impressive than Tangmere and 73096!

  • Should VSOE stand for "Victoria Streatham Occasional Express"?
