This Phantom Duet is hot, hot, hot! Just listen to that piano travelling all over the place in the third chorus! One of the catchiest foxtrots around (written by Harry Warren, no less) and Adam Carroll's Ampico arrangement sounds like it was just made to be paired with the Mighty Wurlizer. Plus, it's unbelievably fun to play!

  • FANTASTIC!!! What a wonderful idea these Phantom Duets are! We MUST have more please - these give so much pleasure.

I love how 'Little Grey Home in the West' was slipped in. I'm surprised no one else has mentioned this.

Is that organ 'at home'? Looks like it's in someone's living room or am I mistaken. Please tell us more.

  • Congrats! You're the first to notice "Little Grey Home..." Clever interpolation, that. The organ is in the Little River Studio outside Wichita and is, I think, the finest studio style Wurlitzer on the planet.

  • I'm in music heaven. I love Jim Riggs duets.More please!!!

Every time I hear a theater organ, it reminds me

of the glorious organ in the old Chicago Stadium. I hope it was rescued!

  • Alas, the Stadium Barton is gone. After its removal to AZ in the late 90's (and while the huge console was stored elsewhere) a warehouse fire destroyed the entire works of the organ. Ironically for me, that fire also destroyed the very first Wurlitzer I ever heard or played. Sigh...

  • Please post more. I remember being on holiday in Cornwall when I was 12 and hearing for the first time an Ampico roll recording and little model F WurliTzer at Paul Corrins Music Museum, separately though. I was bowled over by both then, and the way you have brought the two together is fantastic. Thank you.

  • I know Paul, the museum and that charming little (style 200) Wurlitzer well! Those two-manual, double rail consoles are SO pretty, especially the French style! Who would have thought such a nice instrument lived in the Cornish wildlands near Liskeard? Thanks very much for your comments!

  • I absolutely loved this fabulous rendition of 'Pasadena". I played in a roaring twenties band back in the early '70s on a large Wurlitzer 4700 electronic organ at the "Barbary Banjo" here in Victoria, B.C. This was our theme song!

The organ really filled out the sound of the band. Ah, the memories!

  • not enough pianos in my opinion

  • How can i buy this CD?

  • @deancook65 ahh i.c, thank you sir :)

  • @TheProudAmerican777 Well, that's sort of true...only the console of the Chicago Stadium organ is in the collection, playing a hybrid pipe organ collected from several different sources. The stadium organ itself (all the pipework, windchests, and all other mechanical components) were destroyed in that terrible fire. It sent shockwaves throughout the theatre organ world.

  • Thank you sooooooo much

THAT IS SWINGING MUSIC ......... wonderful!!!!!!

  • wat do the red n white thinggis do...????

  • Love these duets!!! Two of my favorite instruments!!!

  • @GemOrganLady As a matter of fact, the organ is at a very prestigious collection in Las Vegas which the MBSI visited and it is also on youtube. So shes in good hands.:)
