If this is the case, then what is the purpose of Jesus dying on the cross? If salvation is something that can be earned, then why did Jesus go through his ordeal? One forgive his neighbor without Jesus having to die on the cross.
Therefore please explain this to me.

@CherokeeCharli If Jesus could forgive you for a sin committed against your brother, where is the justice for that brother? A truly just God would never allow such an idea. That is why he said "forgive, and you will be forgiven." Jesus died to point the way....as any good Shepherd would. The way....is by following his example. He did not love his life in the world because his kingdom is not of this world. If we are children of God we will do likewise. It's all in His words my friend.

@HisWordsAreTruth I believe the text reads as such do not sin away your day of grace..I thought you were going to give text instead you gave your version of what is written..It is also stated Work out your salvation with fear an trembling..no where have I ever seen salvation with a condition on it . How then is one to believe that he is able to keep that which has been committed unto him against that day.....

@sheriwhispers I don't recall any where in Jesus' words where he said "do not sin away your day of grace." Maybe someone just told you that's what he said? The rest of your comments are a bit unintelligible. No offense, I'm just saying you need to make the point clear. As far as saying "nowhere have I seen salvation with a condition"....what about Christianity? They say only faith saves. That is a "conditional" salvation.
