I, er...., borrowed...this song from Bill a lot of years ago (I used to be an Alaskan) and this is still one my favorite songs to pick. Bill just may be one of the greatest songwriter/poets ever.

btw, got his albums in the 80s--it reminds me of falling asleep on my dad's lap.

I grew up with Bill Staines and still know every word to every song on Whistle of the Jay. I saw him about 10 years ago.
Boy thank for the wal back into the past. I haven't seen Bill Staines on stage since the 60's when hewas fist starting out in the Boston area
